6th Annual 2002
Indiana State Police chaplains were invited to provide names of families to participate in the 2002 “Christmas for Kids” Program. Each Indiana State Post has at least one chaplain assigned to assist their officers in a time of need, as well as to assist members of their communities. This year, chaplains provided the names of families who were experiencing some type of personal crisis during the holiday. Some had lost their home and belongings to a recent fire; others had been diagnosed with serious illnesses and had extensive medical bills; some were single parent families or had lost their jobs. Just prior to the Christmas holiday, the children of the families were invited to join uniformed officers, as well as their chaplain friends, to shop for new clothing, toys, games, and other holiday treats, compliments of the Indiana Troopers Association. Our thanks to the chaplains and officers who came out to make the holidays brighter for Indiana’s future – our children. |
