During the holiday season, the ITA once again was privileged to assist a number of deserving families across the state.
Thanks to the efforts of family members and friends of the Bartram family, we received a large monetary donation to the “Christmas for Kids” fund. In addition, our supporters from across the state make contributions to the holiday assistance fund and the two combined enabled the ITA to make the holidays brighter for many Indiana youngsters and their families.

This year, the ITA enlisted the assistance of our Board of Directors and the Indiana State Police in gathering the names of families who were struggling during the holiday season. We contacted our ISP District Commanders, Dispatchers, Public Information Officers and Chaplains to provide us with the names of families they personally knew in their area of the state that we could offer assistance to through the Trooper Pat Bartram Memorial “Christmas for Kids” Program.

We asked each person submitted a family name to give us the reasons they could use our help this year and also invited that person to assist with the shopping and delivery of the items we gave. The response was overwhelming as we saw our board members, uniformed officers, and Chaplains stepping up to go shopping with the children and their families just prior to the holidays.
Some of the families we were able to help included: several single parent families; several troopers who had been off-duty due to medical problems or injuries; the son of a trooper who lost all his belongings in the hurricane; a single mom with a deaf child to take care of and had lost her job; a single dad who was legally blind and had two boys to care for; a single mom losing her eyesight with a son to support; a grandmother raising her grandchildren; several families where the one or both parents had been laid off from their jobs…the needs were great and thanks to the generosity of hundreds of our loyal supporters, we were able to send food boxes and gift cards that were used for clothing, toys and games to make the holidays brighter.

We thank each of your for your part in making the 2005 Trooper Pat Bartram Memorial “Christmas for Kids” Program so great!
