ITA Thanksgiving Food Basket Program

ITA Board of Directors Prepare Food Baskets

Following their Fall 2002 Board of Directors meeting, the board members and office staff of the ITA rolled up their sleeves and packed food baskets to be shipped to deserving families across Indiana.

In lieu of the 2001 traditional statewide program, a sizeable monetary donation was sent to the survivors and their families of the September 11th tragedy.  The ITA also co-hosted a survivor’s breakfast at National Police Week in Washington, DC in May of 2002.

In early fall, elementary schools across Indiana were contacted and invited to participate in the 2002 Food Basket Program.  It was the decision of the board to prepare the food baskets at the corporate office in Angola and to seek food donations from area businesses to assist with the program.

Board members and staff enjoyed the afternoon packing the baskets, which were then shipped via UPS to the designated families just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The ITA sincerely appreciates the donations received in helping us continue to meet our goal of lending a helping hand to Hoosiers in need.
