VISION STATEMENT

The Indiana Troopers Association (ITA) is the police organization of choice within the state of Indiana.  We will continue to be diverse in our methods of meeting the needs of our constituency and the public.  We will continue to be a voice to and for our membership and we will provide information to the public regarding the activities of the ITA and the troopers of Indiana.  We will continue to be known for a close working relationship with our constituency, vendors, state officials, affiliated organizations, and the various media.    Innovative, responsive, friendly, value-oriented, and integral will continue to be words used to describe our organization.  We will be a supplier of information to the various domains to achieve a higher level of professional recognition and service within the State of Indiana and among our constituencies.

WHO WE ARE

The Indiana Troopers Association is an organization of police and civilian law enforcement personnel dedicated not only to the support of our members and their families, but also to the well-being of the community.  It is a rank and file organization, men and women whose commitment to serve extends far beyond their professional lives.

BENEFITING THE COMMUNITY

The Indiana Troopers Association strives to meet the diverse needs of both our constituency and the public.  We are a voice to and for our people.  We work to achieve a higher level of professional recognition and service within the State of Indiana.  We support projects that generate a positive understanding of the role of police personnel, which positively impacts the lives of the members of the communities we serve.

We support the community through such annual statewide programs as the David Deuter Memorial Essay Contest for 5th graders, and our Holiday Assistance Program.

We also contribute to many child-centered efforts including: Indiana State Police Youth Services & Historical Center and their Summer Camp Program, Indiana Conservation Officers Youth Camps,  Steuben County Literacy Coalition.

It continues to be our goal to extend the helping hands of law enforcement personnel by reaching out to children, building rapport and changing the direction of Indiana’s greatest asset – our children.

The community contribution of ITA members have far reaching effects; officers are viewed in a different light, children have role models, and people learn that there are compassionate and truly caring individuals behind the uniforms they wear.

WHY WE EXIST

The Indiana Troopers Association supports its members and their families with benefits, services and advocacy. Benefits includes: supplemental coverage for prescription medication, prescription eye care, and dental care as well as a line of duty death benefit to the beneficiary of a member killed while serving the residents of our state. The ITA provides legal counsel to their members.

The ITA actively works to enhance the public perception of law enforcement officers through community support programs and their official publication, The Trooper Magazine.
