PROGRAMS
The Indiana Troopers
Association
contributes annually to a number of worthwhile groups. We have been
longtime contributors to the Indiana State Police Youth Services and
Historical Center activities.
Our annual Fifth Grade David
Deuter Essay Contest
gives students an opportunity to express "What Being A
Good Citizen Means To Me" and be rewarded for their
efforts. One winner from each county receives a $100 US
Savings Bond, the four runners-up receive a $500 US
Savings Bond and the statewide winner receives an additional $500
bond. Other
major programs that are totally funded by the ITA include the Holiday
Assistance Program, which provides a bountiful basket of food
to a deserving families Indiana just prior to the
Thanksgiving holiday. Just prior to the Christmas holiday,
families from the state of Indiana are selected to participate in the
Trooper Pat Bartram Memorial
Christmas
For Kids Program. This program provides the opportunity
for the children in the family to shop with a uniformed Indiana
State Police officer for new clothing and toys, compliments
of ITA.
In addition to these fine programs, we lend our
support to the following organizations:
The Indiana State Police Pioneers, which includes ISP
officers with 20 years or more of service;
Indiana State Police Youth Education and Historical Center’s
Summer Camp Program, providing funds for young people across Indiana
to attend a law enforcement camp program and The Indiana
Conservation Officers Youth Camps Program.
All money that is raised – minus operating expenses
– through the publication of our official publication, The
Trooper Magazine, membership dues, and donations is earmarked
for diversified programs. These
programs have been carefully selected and researched prior to
financial commitments being made.
All of the programs that are sponsored by the ITA
focus on investing in our future – the children of our state.
Your cooperation and financial support of these programs is
an essential part of their success. We thank you for your part in making our goals realities.
